Introduction

01.

Prenuvo is a late-stage health-tech startup that provides whole-body MRI screening and a suite of other preventative health services to help individuals detect health issues early and shift healthcare from reactive to proactive.

In Fall of 2025, I joined Prenuvo as a Product Designer with a focus on patient experiences, owning the design of the patient web dashboard and mobile app while also leading the revamp of Prenuvo's HALO design system in preparation for the company’s next stage of growth where they look to expand their current 17 clinic locations across North America internationally.

Context

02.

Prenuvo owns the full end-to-end delivery of their preventative services, supporting both patients through digital and in-clinic experiences and clinical teams with internal tools for MRI review and reporting.

Product teams at Prenuvo have built a comprehensive ecosystem in order to facilitate this multi-faceted product ecosystem spanning 3 main silos, e-commerce, patient experiences, and clinical tools.

Contributions-to-date - Patient Experiences

03.

As the Product Designer owning patient experience, I work in an AGILE pod owning web dashboard and mobile app experiences, working cross functionally in sprints to ship features that enhance the patient journey.

To date, I've driven several large-scale design initiatives including the web dashboard refresh and native reporting for bloodwork results, alongside a string of smaller enhancements and features.

Contributions-to-date - HALO Design System Revamp

04.

The existing HALO design system had been largely abandoned, with silos building their own components and designers regularly detaching assets. I led a full audit and revamp of HALO, gathering requirements from product teams across Prenuvo to create a new unified design system termed HALO 2.0.

HALO 2.0 is robust, scalable and designed with internationalization in mind. Collaborating closely with engineering and product teams across Prenuvo, the system was quickly adopted, resulting in more consistent designs, faster product delivery, and a more scalable foundation for future products.

Contributions-to-date - AI Workflows

05.

In a close-knit team, I helped explore multiple AI workflows to better streamline our design-to-development handoff process. Using Figma and Jira MCP, we fed design context and detailed requirements into Cursor, allowing it to generate near-production ready interactive prototypes.

We further integrated HALO 2.0 into Cursor, enabling generated prototypes to use our native styles, components and patterns as well. This resulted in high-fidelity, interactive and realistic prototypes that greatly accelerated design handoffs and provided stakeholders with much better visibility.

Conclusion

06.

Startup life has taught me to balance shipping fast, with still championing user experience for the end user, a fine line to walk.

At a fast-paced startup like Prenuvo, shipping MVPs and iterating incrementally was the norm. Moving quickly while staying user-centered required thoughtful tradeoffs and has taught me the value in making deliberate design decisions between must-haves and nice-to-haves.

I now regularly use data and metrics to measure design success and justify my decisions and rationale.

At Prenuvo, we regularly used Sigma to monitor product metrics, identify patient behaviour, and evaluate the effectiveness of our design solutions. Regularly integrating qualitative insights into my design process allowed me to effectively prioritize features, inform iterations, and justify my rationale using evidence when communicating to stakeholders.

Everyone is still exploring AI, and we’re all learning how best to integrate it into our workflow. It’s been a continuous learning process.

The design field is undergoing a monumental shift, with new technologies and tools seemingly emerging every day. I always try my best to stay curious and open to new workflows, and be up-to-date on the latest responsibilities of the role of a designer during this uncertain time in our world of design.

Let's get in touch.
